Stage the Change 2023
The 10th annual Stage the Change Conference took place at Tilles Center on Friday, November 3, 2023 and LIHSA Performing Arts students attended. The conference’s mission is to help high school students find their social voice through performing arts and be catalysts for change. The day features a keynote speaker, student performances and workshops.
Sophia Buffolino, a senior from Levittown studies Dance at LIHSA. She found one of the workshops especially memorable since it connected being yourself and the art you do.
AJ Carbone, also a senior from Levittown, who studies Theater loved a performance called Religion Party. “It was really cool,” AJ said, “It shows how all religions could have differences and still come together and support each other”
Both Sophia and AJ also appreciated a dance performance depicting test anxiety.
The keynote was Tony award winner Ali Stroker who spoke about the significance of winning a Tony award while being in a wheelchair.
We already can’t wait til next year’s conference!
