Ribbon Cutting for LIHSA’s TV & Film Studio!
On November 19, 2024, Long Island High School for the Arts celebrated the grand opening of its new, state-of-the-art film studio with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event highlighted the school’s dedication to providing exceptional opportunities for students in the Multimedia TV and Film program. The new facility, equipped with high-definition cameras, professional lighting setups, and industry-standard editing software, offers students the tools to create and develop their own film projects, preparing them for careers in the ever-evolving film and television industries.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by 35 special guests, including representatives from partnering school districts, Hofstra University, Five Towns College, and News 12, all of whom gathered to celebrate this exciting new chapter for LIHSA. A standout moment of the event was the opportunity for two Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar Artists, Nick Micelli from Smithtown and Riley Wood from Wantagh, to share their films with the guests. Both students, who are recognized for their exceptional talent, showcased their work, further demonstrating the high caliber of young artists nurtured at LIHSA.
This new film studio reflects the school’s commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and excellence. It offers students the resources and support needed to bring their artistic visions to life, equipping them with the skills necessary for success in the film industry.
