Outstanding Senior: Sam Harold
Meet Sam Harold, a talented musician in the Performing Arts Music program at LIHSA. A 2nd year Senior from the Bethpage School District, Sam’s passion for music has been cultivated over years of dedication and practice.
Sam was inspired to attend LIHSA after watching her sister, Katelyn, perform as a student in the school. While attending her sister’s performances, Sam began to consider what LIHSA could offer: the opportunity to collaborate with other talented artists while refining her skills in technique, theory, and recording arts. Sam hopes to be a future music producer of a successful band, and LIHSA seemed like the next step towards making that dream come true. Sam applied and was accepted!
Throughout her time in music classes, Sam has learned invaluable skills like writing and recording her own music, which have played a pivotal role in shaping her future aspirations. One of her most exciting projects is an instrumental EP that showcases her musical creativity.
During her time at LIHSA, Sam has performed at various performances including 89 North, Ramona’s Gift to Music annual Spring fundraiser, Spring Fest and Winter Fest at LIHSA as well as Holiday Caroling at Old Westbury Gardens. Sam’s advice for future LIHSA students? “It’s not worth getting nervous over something you love to do, so just play for you!”
With numerous accolades, including being a NYSSMA All State Honors award recipient and Drum Major at her home school, Sam is on her way to making her dreams a reality.
You can see Sam on stage Friday, February 7th in the Winter Festival: Music performance where she will be playing drums.
