Outstanding Senior Nicole Zawojski

Nicole Zawojski is a talented student from Bethpage School District who is currently enrolled in the Visual Arts program at LIHSA. Over her two years at the school, Nicole’s work has demonstrated ever-increasing creativity and skill that will take her far in the world of art and animation.

Nicole chose to attend LIHSA to deepen her artistic education and refine her techniques, with the long-term goal of pursuing a career in animation. As a student at LIHSA, she’s gained a solid foundation, particularly through learning figure drawing, a crucial skill for any art major. Nicole plans to pursue Computer Animation after graduation.

Nicole’s passion for the arts extends beyond the classroom. While she enjoys her projects at LIHSA, she finds herself most energized by the work she does in her free time at home. These personal projects allow her to push boundaries and experiment with different techniques, often yielding some of her most innovative and exciting pieces. It’s clear that her love for art is a part of who she is.

“LIHSA is a great place to go for art students who want to actually pursue art as a career. It’s perfect for developing your skill and building a portfolio,” Nicole shared. Her enthusiasm for the program reflects how it has shaped her as an artist.

One of the most enriching experiences for Nicole was working with Louis D’Amato during her graphic design classes. Nicole fondly recalls the creative process in these workshops, which challenged her to experiment with design concepts she hadn’t considered before. This opportunity to work alongside professionals in the field has been pivotal in her education.

Nicole is excited about the prospect of a successful career in animation. She hopes to make a significant impact in the industry and contribute to the world of animation in ways that are both fresh and engaging. In 10 years, she envisions herself as an accomplished animator, bringing her visions to life in captivating new ways.

Nicole also recognizes the vital role that arts education plays in personal development. “It helps you develop skills that a lot of people don’t have, and it gives you the freedom to be your unique self.” She brings this positivity to her role as a member of the National Art Honors Society where Nicole meets with her peers and volunteers her time at LIHSA events.

Beyond her technical skills and academic achievements, Nicole brings a unique spirit and energy to everything she does. Whether it’s through her innovative art projects or her thoughtful reflections on her future, she exemplifies the qualities of an artist who is poised to make a real impact in the world of animation.
