A Closer Look at the AP Artwork of Tristan Soto
Tristan Soto, a senior from Glen Cove is studying Fine Arts at LIHSA. For his original works, he begins creating concepts in his notebook. Typically, he uses paper and pencil as mediums, and especially likes to work with a mechanical pencil. He enjoys working with pens too.
For his AP artwork, Tristan has decided to create 15 pieces around comic book art, with a resemblance to 1980’s Marvel covers. He further describes is pieces as involving shapes and captures realism.
Tristan recently attended a portfolio review session at the Javitts Center. He initially found the critiques difficult, but then learned to accept it. He realized it’s helpful to know you have further to go on your art. Then came some very exciting news — he was accepted on the spot for RIT! Later, he received an acceptance from SCAD!
