Alumni in the Spotlight: Gianna Forte

Gianna’s NASA presentation

LIHSA Alum Gianna Forte recently presented to current LIHSA students about what she’s been doing since graduating, including going to NASA! She visited to present a business proposal on a fermentation device utilizing a NASA IP that uses a high- temperature, high- pressure sensor. She was part of a team that was just one of 12 nationwide to present at the Johnson Space Center in front of entrepreneurs, NASA engineers and patent judges.

Gianna shared, “I loved it not just because of how incredible of an experience (and childhood dream come true) it was, but because of how much it reminded me of robotics. Late nights practicing with the team, there’s something just incredible about the energy surrounding those events.”

On her campus at Adelphi University, Gianna started a Game Design club on campus! It’s called UPGRADE (Uniting Pioneers in Game Research, Art, Design, and Engineering). The club has already built an arcade cabinet that will display member’s games in the library.

Gianna is a 2024 LIHSA Graduate from the Game Design program.  While at LIHSA, Forte won Scope Education Dr. Dillon Excellence in Career and Technical Education Award and scholarship at graduation. Click here to read the blog from her senior year at LIHSA. We can’t wait to see what she does next!
