Meet Outstanding Senior Kyleigh Harrison!

Kyleigh Harrison, a senior from Division Avenue High School in Levittown, has made a lasting impact on Long Island High School for the Arts as a dedicated dance student. From a young dancer to a budding artist, Kyleigh’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

Kyleigh chose LIHSA to take her love for dance to the next level, seeking a place where she could expand her skills and be introduced to new experiences. “I knew the LIHSA dance department would take my passion a step further, and that’s exactly what it did,” she shares. During her time in the program, she has been a dedicated member of National Honors Society for Dance Arts and the Dance Buddies program.

One of the most valuable lessons Kyleigh has learned at LIHSA is the importance of networking in the dance industry. “Networking and making connections is the one thing that is going to get you far in this industry. It’s all about the people you know,” she says. She’s also deeply grateful for the guest artist Heather Conn, whose industry experience and work ethic have left a lasting impression on her.

Looking ahead, Kyleigh has exciting plans post-graduation. Although she won’t major in dance, she’s determined to keep it in her life by joining a college dance team. She’s currently in recruitment for two schools—Long Island University’s Division 1 team and Pace University’s Division 2 team.  Her experience on Division Avenue’s Kickline Team allowed her the opportunity to create first-place winning choreography for her team this season, better preparing her for a college dance team!

Kyleigh’s advice to future LIHSA students? “Don’t hesitate on your decisions. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. This school opened up new doors for me as a dancer and a person,” she says.

Kyleigh is already showing the dance world what she’s capable of. Her future looks bright, and we can’t wait to see where her talent takes her! Keep scrolling to see more photos.
